Strengthening Agro-Input Systems in Nigeria
Afritropic Farming & Agro Services Ltd, in collaboration with PIND Foundation, launched a powerful AgroDealer Training Workshop in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, focused on seed storage, agro-input systems, and Good Agronomic Practices (GAP). This hands-on training was designed to improve the quality of agro-dealer services and ensure farmers across Nigeria have access to high-quality, climate-smart seeds and accurate farming support.
Why This Agro-Dealers Workshop Matters
Agricultural productivity in Nigeria begins with access to the right seeds and input knowledge. Agro-dealers are the first link in the farming chain — when they are well trained, farmers grow better.
The workshop covered:
- Seed storage techniques for optimal germination
- How to preserve seed quality under Nigerian climate conditions
- Best practices in climate-smart farming and input advisory
- Use of Afritropic’s certified seed catalog for vegetable farming
- GAP training to boost productivity and reduce post-harvest losses
Agro-Dealers Show Commitment
The Akwa Ibom training was marked by high participation and passion. Despite delays, attendees stayed patiently, demonstrating a commitment to growth and collaboration.
They learned how to:
- Advise farmers effectively.
- Handle and store seeds to preserve viability.
- Build long-term customer trust.
- Link farmers to high-quality input supply chains.
Agro-Dealers Certificates of Participation
Every AgroDealer in attendance received a Certificate of Participation in the AgroDealer Training Program, validating their readiness to serve as trusted input providers across the Niger Delta.
These agro-dealers will now support:
- Vegetable seed distribution
- Community training and support
- Farmer education on input use
